I’m Sandra Peoples—lover of lemonade, sleeping late, and em dashes. I’m married to Lee, who is a church planter (and currently working a few other jobs, as church planters are known to do). We live with our two boys outside of Houston, Texas.
Four years ago I read a quote that changed my life:
“If there’s a book you really want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.” Toni Morrison
We were in the midst of the first year after our younger son’s autism diagnosis and I couldn’t find a book that told me that how I felt was ok, how to help my son, or how I would survive that first year. So I wrote one.
It was such a positive experience, I decide I wanted to help others publish their books. So Next Step Editing was born. It was the perfect way to use my degree in English, my Master of Divinity degree, and my years of experience as an English teacher.
I’m also the editor of Not Alone, a site for special-needs parents, and The MOB Society . In addition to writing the book mentioned above, my husband and I co-wrote Held: Learning to Live in God’s Grip (a Bible study for special-needs parents). I am currently working with Credo Communications to find a publisher for my newest book.
You can also find me on my personal site, SandraPeoples.com, where I write about family life, books, and church planting. I would love to connect with you on Facebook, on Twitter, on Instagram, and on Pinterest.
